The Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA) is an Act to regulate the functioning of Private Security Agencies and to ensure that the agencies are operating within a legal framework and are accountable to a regulatory mechanism. Every State and Union Territory has framed “Rules” to implement the objectives of PSARA and notified the Controlling Authorities for PSARA.
